Florida Glassic Reunion March 3, 2020

Event report

Due to a weather channel mistake, which gave weather for Leesburg, Virginia, instead of Leesburg, Florida, it looked to me like the Don Davis hex had, finally happened. (this was from years ago, when we had a storm at a reunion in Biloxi.  After declaring that we would return the next year, "because it could not be worse" -- the week before the next reunion was Hurricane Katrina!) However, I owe you an apology as the weather was once again, just beautiful for the gathering.

Only one Glassic and six people, but a good time was had by all again.

Here are pictures of all attendees, plus a group photo and the lone Glassic.

Ken Bragg is the owner of #1089. His guest and mechanic is Glen Bryan who had a lot of entertaining stories about being Ken's mechanic, but driving behind him, not being in the passenger seat!

PLANS UNDERWAY:
2020 Florida Glassic meet up in Leesburg Florida

This year’s event is scheduled to be held on March 3 with March 4 as a backup. A local closed building has been reserved if there turns out to be moderate rain either day.

The event will be held from 10:00AM to 3:00PM this year again at the Paquette IH Museum just off Highway 44 on the east side of Leesburg FL.

The address and phone numbers are:
 615 S Whitney Road
Leesburg, FL 34748
352-728-3588 352-267-4448

Due to our now smaller gathering size, we are going to have to improvise with the help of our local compatriot, Ken Bragg, to do a spontaneous carry out/pick up/delivery with a local food provider, just before noon on the gathering day

Attendees will again be able to take the onsite tour of hundreds of restored IH (International Harvester) items from combines/tractors/big rigs to several Scouts on down to refrigerators/kid size toy models.
The tour rate will be $10-15/person, depending upon group size.

The format will be similar to last year with mostly informal discussions, car looking, and sharing information of pictures/brochures. I will be once again taking video of each set of Glassic/owners, plus some reminiscing with others present.

Unfortunately, Joel who is Joel? and Linda Faircloth, due to family reasons, will not be able to join us this year, but say hello and wish us all the best.

Attendees need to email me with their intent as to number of persons and Glassics/other vehicles, so the parking, tours, and meals can be coordinated. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own folding chairs, if possible

Updates/confirmation based upon weather predictions, etc. will be made the week February 24.

Hopefully, the good weather trend on event day will continue.
