Finding a Glassic to Buy

A request in 2014 prompted this web page.

"We are looking to purchase a replica of a Model A Roadster,--- Can u email us a site where we can view these cars?"

While I have a page with tips about SELLING your Glassic - there are a few short-cuts that might help you find the car you want.
My best guess would be that there are, perhaps, 30 or more Glassics for sale at any given time, and how and where they are sold is different in many cases.  So, the tips below are in the order that may be most likely to get results.
1 - The Glassic Annex website.  The idea of this site is to gather info in one place, so there should be more here than any other single place, but many, many Glassic sellers have either never heard of the site, or do not send the info to me to post. (many friends of the Annex send along ads they fiind, and I post them)

On the Glassic Annex, the LOG, right on the home page, is where I post new info that comes to me. I try to put the state and body style of cars I find for sale, and a link to where I found it.

The owners lists - When an owner lets me know that his/her car is for sale, I highlight their owners entry in bright yellow -so scroll through looking for yellow entries. This info does go out of date, since I don't actively watch cars that are for sale, and, if I am not notified, the info may get obsolete.  Glassics do not always sell quickly, so it is worth checking even older entries.  I generally, but not always, remove the yellow after some months have gone by.  The Annex is the single place to find the most leads on cars for sale.

The Message board on the Glassic Annex is a free place to put your WANTED ad -- since the ad is free, put as much info as you want in the ad -- it will help a seller to see if he fits your needs. "Wanted, fully restored Phaeton" is a lot different than "Wanted, low price Glassic project nears Southern California"

2 - Search terms on the internet.  Glassic is a logical choice, but a large number of sale ads don't use that word.  Here is a list of search words that I would use - starting with the ones that I have found most productive.

Glassic

"model A" replica (the Model and A in quotes, so that the two parts are kept together in a search)

Ford replica (this will also get many non-Glassic results)

fiberglass ford

Replicars (The name of the newer Glassics, but also a generic term for "replica cars"

There are even sellers who do not mention that their car is a "replica" in their ad, so you can learn to try any and all search words and phrases, one after another to see what results you get.  Ebay, Craigs List, Auto trader, Hemmings are places to try your search terms.  Using a search engine, like Google, will get lots of not-helpful results also, but you have to learn to skim them.

3 - Try this:  Google, but use the "images" tab,  search for pictures with the term    glassic "for sale" keep the words for and sale together with the quote marks. The picture will mention a website where it was found, and that may have the car you want.

Good luck in your search for a Glassic
