Top and Top Frame Matters

Regarding the question of the functioning of the convertible tops:

This information supplied by the original builders of the cars:

Their main concern was in the area of weather control and "top up" function and appearance...  Top down is take your best shot... On the phaeton, the top removes fairly easily and can be stored in the trunk... Wrap the pads around or tuck them in as best you can...  The top boot looks best when "stuffed" with towels or whatever...  the close clearances on the top frame when it folds down can cut the top, so removal is the suggested way to go... On the roadster, the same applies... Just do the best you can...
